Ruta de las Aguas is located in the northern sector of Chilean and Argentine Patagonia. It stretches from Lago Ranco to Esquel, winding among rivers and fiords to eventually meet up with the Carretera Austral or Southern Highway.The region is very well connected by air and land routes, with several daily flights from Santiago and Buenos Aires to Puerto Montt, Valdivia, Osorno, Bariloche and Esquel. There are more than 20 daily flights from Santiago to Puerto Montt alone and 7 from Buenos Aires to Bariloche. On the water, Cruce Andino’s ferries sail between the cities of Puerto Varas and Bariloche in a day-long crossing..
